Steel Windows by Heritage Steel Window Repair
Sometimes a new window is the right answer: an addition that should match the original house, an opening that lost its steel window decades ago, or a kitchen wall that calls for a run of steel doors. We supply and install new thin-profile steel windows and doors for those jobs.
We measure, coordinate fabrication, and install, so the new units line up with existing steel windows on the same facade.
Matching New to Old
New steel windows can be made with the same sightlines and lite pattern as the originals. On houses with mostly restorable windows, we often restore the originals and add only one or two new units where the old ones were lost.
For additions and renovations, we work with your architect on profiles, glazing and finish so the new work fits the old.

Steel Window Services

Industrial Steel Windows
Former factories and warehouses often have huge multi-lite steel windows. We survey them lite by lite, restore the sections that are sound and replace sections that are beyond repair, keeping the pattern of the facade intact.
Lead Times
New steel windows are custom made. Plan for several weeks for drawings and several more for fabrication. We help you sequence the work so the openings are secured in the meantime.
We serve Philadelphia, the Main Line, Bucks, Chester and Delaware Counties, South Jersey and Wilmington. Related services: bronze window restoration, metal window repair, casement window repair.
Choosing New Steel Windows
New steel windows are a long-term investment, so a few choices matter. Decide early whether you need operable vents or fixed lites, what glazing the room needs (insulated, laminated for security, or low-E for sun), and which finish suits the house: black and dark bronze are the most common, but any color is possible.
On older houses, match the muntin pattern and sightlines of the existing windows so new and old read as one family. On additions, the architect may choose a more modern grid; we help check that the details work with the masonry or framing they will sit in.
We handle the site measuring, review the shop drawings with you and install the units, then flash and seal them to the wall. That single point of responsibility avoids the gaps between supplier and installer that cause most leaks.
